International Curriculum
JIPS implements the International Preschool Curriculum (IPC) developed by the largest organization for pre-school education in the world. The headquarters of the organization is located in the United States. The curriculum developers are teachers and academics of universities in the United States, including Harvard University. IPC is aligned to meet or exceed the standards of all major education systems making it the most internationally accepted ECE curriculum in the world. It cooperates closely with governments to adapt curriculum materials to local contexts.
The main objectives of IPC are to develop the skills of critical thinking, self-awareness, understanding of other cultures and development of multilingual skills. The curriculum also covers the requirements of the State Compulsory Standard for preschool education in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The main feature of the curriculum is an interdisciplinary approach, which implies learning through the thematic modules.
Each thematic module consists of 6 content learning areas, namely: 1) Language Arts. 2) Numeracy. 3) Motor skills. 4) Sciences. 5) Socio-emotional development. 6) Creative Arts
Thus, each module covers all areas and develops the child in a holistic way. Such close integration allows a child to form a complete picture of the world. More than 2,000 carefully created learning objectives are summarized into 64 learning indicators for seamless assessment and progress checks. JIPS builds a multilingual environment, which will help children to master various languages. Instruction languages will be Kazakh, Russian and English. Upon your requests, other foreign languages will also be introduced. Play is an essential part of the learning process, and is used to extend children’s boundaries, through which they can begin to understand themselves and the World around them. Through play and activities, music and song, story and poetry, experience and observation, interaction and conversation, we provide the foundations for further development.
